Why Full-Service Design Is Best For Working Professionals

Like most individuals and companies, we spent the last week muting our content to listen, learn, and share information on the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the social and systematic racism that exists in our world towards the Black community.

For the team at Dima Ahmad Interiors, nothing feels as important than bringing the necessary change that our world so desperately needs. To continue to live our lives with inaction and silence is to be complicit. It is time for us to do more—really, it’s long overdue.

Interior design is my passion. It’s what I love to do.

But, there are many things that require our attention beyond the elements of design we love to share with you all. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve looked inwards to ask myself, how can I help?

My professional career is where I’ve always felt the freedom to learn, grow, and reach for bigger and better on my terms. The colour of my skin was never a barrier to hinder the knowledge I obtained or the growth of my achievements or advancement. It should be and must be the same for Black youth. Period.

The fight against racism is a long one, and the charities that do a lot of the heavy lifting rely upon ongoing support from donors.

I will use design as my vehicle to commit to doing more.

With my passion, I want to continue to drive toward more than just beautiful homes. That is why I am introducing my newest initiative, #luxurythatgivesback, to support the issues that matter most.

For the rest of 2020, I’ll be donating 50% of the profits from our consultations to Careers Education Empowerment Toronto. CEE Centre For Young Black Professionals is a charity dedicated to addressing the economic and social barriers affecting black youth.

All my best,
